White Rock Consulting & Communications is pleased to announce the establishment of its first international office in Doha, Qatar.
Building upon our success in providing services and supports to companies located in Newfoundland and Labrador, our talents have increasingly been sought out by organizations from across our great country and more recently beyond Canada’s borders. It is this success that has fostered our strategic move to explore international prospects. After much analysis, White Rock believes untold opportunities exist in the GCC State of Qatar. Our province, through the College of the North Atlantic, is a significant player in the Qatari educational sector and yet there have been few concerted entrepreneurial efforts to capitalize on this significant Newfoundland presence and sphere of influence. White Rock International hopes to change this dynamic and intends to work both in support of the requirements of the CNA-Qatar and of other public and private sector Qatari entities. We also plan to serve as trailblazers – creating pathways for other NL companies to take advantage of the huge opportunities in Qatar and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).
Our Doha-based ex-pat team bring a wealth of local experience and when combined with our full White Rock consultant group have collectively spent over 20 years immersed in this unique business environment and Muslim-influenced culture. Leading operations in Doha is Tony Martin, a deeply experienced marketing/management consultant with significant exposures to public, private and institutional sector organizations and particularly dedicated to helping educational, sport/health/wellness and entertainment organizations succeed. He is a recognized relationship builder with proven ability in strategic management, marketing/communications as well as the development, application and evaluation of programs and policies and has over 5 years’ experience in the Gulf. Of note, his vitae will confirm several program and operations related consulting assignments with various offices of the College of North Atlantic-Qatar, including that of the College President.
Also located in the Qatar office is Fawaz Hadi, a multi-lingual graduate of CNA-Q and businessman with strong connections to the Arab nationals and high-ranking officials in the region and with proven expertise in market research, digital and technical support.
Bridging the gap between Canada and Qatar is Doug Power, an expert, and innovator with over 30 years of intensive experience in health and wellness development in both countries. He is a recognized leader, coach, and creator of the highly effective and proprietary “Health Promotions” program and other leading industry systems that he has developed while he owned and operated a Health and Wellness Centre for over 20 years. Mr. Power has most recently lived and worked in Qatar where he was CEO of the international broker Trans-Atlantic Trading Company and built a strong network of contacts with some of Qatar’s foremost families and business leaders.
This talented group will be supported by White Rock’s home office in the provision of our traditional suite of services (Marketing, Branding and Creative strategies) along with a menu of strategic supports including business planning, investment support, fund procurement, relationship management as well as program development, support and related research and analysis. Of note, the appointment of our most recent Senior Associate, Ms. Gail Gosse, a recognized expert, with over three decades experience in post-secondary program development and administration (including most recently the former Dean of Business Studies at CNA-Q) will provide an additional layer of familiarity and expertise, particularly in the provision of supports to the education sector in Qatar. In addition to expanded capacity in dealing with education assignments, we underscore that we have also broadened our expertise in the health and wellness, sport/entertainment and tourism sectors. A recently forged relationship with our strategic communications partners Colour/Social will ensure full agency supports including comprehensive digital services are available to serve the needs of our Middle East clients. Further, complimentary alignments with Young/Power Trading, an international trade broker, and Work Global Canada, an immigration, and recruitment firm, will help position White Rock with significant and diverse offerings thereby contributing to a capacity to create immediate impact.
Overall, White Rock International is poised to take on significant projects, combining professional experience, knowledge, resources, and contacts on both sides of the Atlantic to offer unparalleled value to its clients.
